(Salt Lake City-AP) -- It's moving day at the state Capitol.
In fact, for the next few months, every day will be moving day, as workers prepare for a four-year, 200-(m) million dollar renovation of the building.
Workers started this week removing paintings from Governor Olene Walker's office. Crews are moving furniture and other office equipment to temporary quarters where about 350 people displaced from the Capitol will work until 2008.
The move is a logistical nightmare. Antique printing presses have to be removed through the windows. Electronic equipment such as vote tally boards must be handled with kid gloves. Furniture must be tagged and relocated to the corresponding room in the new office building just north of the Capitol where crews are hurrying to finish construction.
The Capitol is set to close on July 30th. The building is being retrofitted for earthquake safety.
