(KSL News) Work done by BYU students hit the national stage today as part of a campaign to combat childhood obesity.

BYU advertising students designed the logo, and chose

BYU Students Helping to Fight Childhood Obesity

the slogan, "Eat well, play hard, make it balance." The slogan is part of an initiative from the Bush administration to get children to be more active.

President George W. Bush: "One way for this nation to cope with the issue of obesity is to get people outside."

Laura Bush, First Lady: "I think children, the goal to have children play an hour a day is a great goal. It's all something we'd all love to do, actually."

Characters from the movie "Shrek" are also part of the campaign, encouraging kids to get up and play. 18 percent of school-age are considered overweight. That is triple the amount from 25 years ago.
