AMERICAN FORK -- Crews set into place the first segment of the Main Street bridge on Interstate 15 in American Fork Friday.
The segment is part of a 192-foot-long bridge that will replace the old Main Street bridge. It also happens to be the heaviest bridge ever moved in Utah.
UDOT closed I-15 in both directions overnight to complete the move.
"It could have gone a little more smoothly. We had hoped to have traffic open at 8:00 this morning, but we were a couple hours late getting that open," said Scott Thompson with the UDOT.
The southbound lanes will be closed again Sunday night through Monday morning.
