SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has made several appointments to two Utah commissions.
Herbert's office on Tuesday announced that former Davis County Commissioner Dannie McConkie will fill a vacancy on the Utah Transportation Commission.
McConkie will replace Stuart Adams, who resigned to serve in the Utah Senate.
Commission member Jeffrey Holt will replace Adams as the commission's new chairman.
Herbert on Tuesday also appointed Dr. Richard Sperry and Jeff Wright to fill two vacant seats on the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Sperry is associate vice president for health sciences, academic and clinical affairs, at the University of Utah.
Wright is managing partner and founder of the private investment firm Actium Partners LLC.
