(KSL News) -- A corrections officer was attacked at the Utah State Prison tonight.
About 7:30, officers were doing routine searches for contraband in one of the old buildings in the prison's Wasatch unit when an inmate assaulted an officer. He punched him in the face, breaking the officer's nose and bruising his eye socket.
The inmate was taken to maximum security and all others were put in temporary lockdown.
