MOAB, Utah (AP) -- There will be no raised medians built along Main Street in Moab.

The city council voted down the move Tuesday night.

The medians were proposed as part of a Utah Department of Transportation-funded reconstruction project scheduled to begin next spring.

Some council members say building the medians would help beautify the street and slow traffic down along the strip. But opponents say the medians would only add to traffic problems along that stretch of Highway 191.
