MIDVALE -- Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Midvale convenience store at gunpoint.
Police say the man walked into the Sinclair store at 7273 S. 700 West Friday afternoon wearing a red mask.
He carried a gun as he approached an employee. He then tied her arms and legs, blindfolded her, gagged her and locked her in the back office.
Police believe the robber had scouted the location and knew when to hit.
Sgt. Ken Jarvis of the Midvale City Police Department says, "He must have known because he went in right as she was preparing the afternoon receipts to go to the bank."
A witness saw the man leave the building after he removed his mask. He described the robber as middle-aged with brown hair, a brown goatee, and tattoos up and down his arms.
