(Picture courtesy Utah Dept. of Public Safety)CARBON COUNTY -- A rock slide north of Helper shut down Highway 6 at milepost 223 for a significant portion of the day Wednesday.

The slide happened just before before noon, but crews weren't able to get the road opened until after 8 p.m.

No vehicles were involved in the slide, but rocks covered both sides of the road. Traffic was diverted to Emma Park Road while crews cleaned up the mess.
