SALT LAKE CITY -- A drug sweep in downtown Salt Lake City netted more arrests than usual.
Every month Salt Lake City narcotics detectives perform undercover operations along 200 South. From Tuesday to Thursday of last week, police concentrated on the area between 600 West and West Temple, and arrested or issued citations to 126 people.
The Deseret News reports 105 of the arrests were for buying or selling drugs.
During a one-night drug sweep along 200 South in August, officers made 22 arrests.
Police say while there has always been some drug dealing along the 200 South corridor, more crime has migrated there from Pioneer Park since video cameras were installed at the park.
