OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- A northern Utah health department is looking for a man who dropped off an injured bat that later tested positive for rabies.
The Weber-Morgan Health Department says the man dropped off the bat at the animal shelter in Ogden on Monday. He said he found the bat while walking his dogs. He left without giving his name.
Local health officials want to see if the man has been exposed to rabies.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says exposure to rabies can be deadly if left untreated.
