(KSL News) -- Traffic was backed up for miles on I-15 this morning, when authorities shut down a gate at Hill Air Force Base, to check out a suspicious package.
A Major at the Base says they received a report of an unattended box, left in the middle of the road at the South gate.
Officials closed the gate to traffic, while an explosives team investigated.
The team took x-rays of the box, and decided it was safe to move to a nearby parking lot.
Once experts opened the box, they found nothing inside, but cardboard.
Officials then reopened the gate about ninety minutes later.
