SUNSET — Three people were seriously injured when their car hit a semitruck and ran into a barrier on I-15 Friday afternoon.
A Honda CR-V attempted to take the freeway off-ramp about 1 p.m. at 5600 South in Sunset, but at the last second, the driver switched back into the main travel lane, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.
The CR-V hit a semitruck and bounced off the truck and into a barrier, said UHP Cpl Luis Silva. The barrier was dislodged and a Nissan hit the barrier.
Three occupants in the CR-V were transported to the hospital in "serious" condition, Silva said. No other injuries were reported.
Silva said two lanes were closed to traffic while crews worked to clean up the crash.
