OGDEN -- Here comes off-road triathlon's biggest event of the year, and it's right here in Utah: XTERRA.
The championship is coming to Ogden and Snowbasin Resort Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26. Hundreds of athletes from 40 states and dozens of countries will compete for $80,000 in prize money.
"[I'm] really excited to have it in Utah. We've raced here, I think, five years already," says Conrad Stoltz, who is ranked No. 1 in the XTERRA mens' pro.
Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey says, "We're excited. To have the regional championships moved to the national championships is a really big deal to us. This is not something that we've taken lightly."
