PROVO -- Tuesday, Sept. 21 marks the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest plays in BYU history. On the offensive side you may think the Clay Brown catch in the Miracle Bowl...or Johnny Harline's game winner at Utah. But this play came on defense; Kyle Morrell's game saving tackle against Hawaii in that preserved the Cougar's perfect season in 1984.
BYU fell from No. 6 to No. 8 in the polls, but what mattered most was staying unbeaten, which paved the way for a No. 1 ranking at the end of the season.
