TAYLORSVILLE -- Police arrested a Taylorsville man a third time for the same crime. Casey Perkins, 34, faces three felony counts of child abuse.
The Deseret News reports he took his 9-week-old son to the hospital last Wednesday for a broken arm. Doctors found it had been injured two to four weeks previously. The baby also had evidence of broken ribs. Perkins was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail over the weekend.
This is Perkins' third arrest in Utah for child abuse.
In 2006, Perkins was charged with misdemeanor child abuse but the case was dismissed.
He served prison time in 1997 for shaking his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter, resulting in blindness in the child's eye.
Taylorsville detectives requested no bail for Perkins in the current case because of his criminal history.
