WEST VALLEY CITY -- Stray dogs and cats in West Valley City now have a new place to call home. The city opened its new state-of-the art animal shelter Monday.
The new, nearly 23,000-square-foot facility has over 15,000 square feet set aside for animals. It well exceeds the overcrowded old shelter, which had only about 4,200 square feet.
The new building also housed the new community preservation department.
