SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Emergency preparedness will be the focus of a weeklong campaign in Utah.
Lt. Gov. Greg Bell will be at the Utah State Fair on Monday to kick off "Be Ready Utah" week, which runs through Sunday.
He'll be joined by Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Marty Shaub, president of the Utah Emergency Managers Association.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging Utah families to prepare for emergencies such as floods, fires, power outages and severe weather. State officials say families should have emergency kits and communications plans at the ready.
