OGDEN -- A Clinton baby has a very unique birthday. Not only was he born on 9/9/09, he was born at exactly 9:09 p.m.
Austin Matthew Van Natter wasn't even due for more than two weeks, but his mother Rachelle went into labor Wednesday afternoon and rushed to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
"We said we wanted him at 9:09, but the doctor said he'll be here way before then," she said.
Austin proved that doctor wrong and waited for the perfect moment. "It was two pushes and he came out right at 9:09," Rachelle said.
Rachelle said she's glad her baby didn't take it a step further and weigh 9 pounds 9 ounces. "Thank goodness. He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 inches long," she said.
She said other nurses and doctors came in to laugh and cheer with her family. "He's a sweet little guy with lots of dark hair. He's doing well," Rachelle said.
