FARMINGTON -- A family tradition took a tragic turn this weekend in Farmington.
Saturday night, 5-year-old Kai Jorgensen of Layton was riding on a long trailer stacked with hay bales with his family. The Davis County Sheriff's Office says the family had just gone out to a bird refuge and was on their way back.
Some of the boys jumped on the trailers and Kai wanted to go with them.
His mother started lowering him from the trailer, which had not stopped yet, and Kai was pulled under and killed.
