SALT LAKE CITY -- A bicyclist hit by a FrontRunner train Thursday night has died.
The Utah Transit Authority says the train was just pulling into a station. The crossing arms were down and the lights were flashing when Heliedro Salgado entered the path of the train.
The train was going about 10 miles per hour and was able to stop quickly but could not avoid hitting Salgado.
Salgado was pinned under the train for a short time before rescue crews were able to pull him out and get him to the hospital. He died around 9:20 Thursday night at Intermountain Medical Center.
