SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- State officials will test Utah's Amber Alert plan this week to see if the alerts are going out as quickly and effectively as possible.

The test on Wednesday will be the 13th one for the state.
The tests are held each year on Aug. 26, the anniversary of when 3-year old Rachael Runyan was kidnapped near her Sunset home in 1982, and on Jan. 13, National Amber Alert Day.
State officials say Utah Amber Alerts have directly resulted in the safe recovery of 15 children.
