WEST JORDAN -- A man charged with the murder of a West Jordan resident was sentenced Monday.
Pailate Lomu received two sentences of 15 years to life in prison: One for aggravated kidnapping; the other for homicide.
The victim's mother says she's pleased with the outcome of the case.
"To know that he'll be in prison for a long, long time--I can live with that," Linda Dobbins said.
Lomu admitted he and three others beat up Dobbins' son, Jay Wolfinjer, in his apartment last October then took him to a shed where he was tortured. Wolfinjer later died.
Police believe the motive was a drug debt.
