(KSL News) A Utah County group is standing up for Utah Valley State College.
Community and business leaders have formed a group called "Friends of Utah Valley" in an effort to change the school's status to a university.
Members have pledged about 10-thousand dollars to help advertise for the school. UVSC is waiting for an additional 10-million dollars from the legislature to become a university.
Friends of Utah Valley say for every one dollar spent on UVSC, more than 6 dollars is returned to the local and state economy.
