WEBER COUNTY -- The long days of summer are quickly coming to a close, but the season's not over yet. We found some ideas for family fun in Weber County that you could take advantage of if you Stay and Play this weekend.
Salomon Center
Surfing in land-locked Utah isn't far-fetched; it's just a drive away in Ogden. From the tipsy-turvy waves of the indoor "Flowrider," where you can surf or wipe out, to the high-flipping adrenaline rush of the iFly, the Salomon Center is exploding with fun.
The center's Davy Manning said, "We can take somebody who has never flown before and we can spend five, 10 minutes with them and get them flying like somebody who has been making skydives for say - I don't know, 10 years."

For daredevils, anyone 3 years old and older can take a whirl in the wind tunnel. For others, there's bowling, miniature golf, bumper boats, and a movie theater. The Salomon Center is a one-stop fun shop where anyone can find something to do and enjoy outdoor adventures all year long.
Rooster's
Restored and redefined, it is no secret that Rooster's -- located in the heart of historic downtown Ogden -- provides more than just good food. Originally two separate buildings, Rooster's combines the 125-year old structures to create an unbeatable ambiance.
Brandon, a manager at Rooster's, said, "We shoot for it to be very comfortable. Kim and Pete like to say that they like it to be a community center where people can come in and find out about Ogden, the trails, outdoor activities. Yet we want it to have its own feel. You can tell a lot of places aren't like this very old building, really good, warm and friendly and comfortable to come in to."
Menu favorites include the chicken penne and fish tacos.
Union Grill
A delicious dessert stop is just a block away. Union Grill is another historic hot spot, credited for its fun, family-friendly atmosphere, complimented by sweet and delicious home cooking.
Annette, a manager at Union Grill, said, "We have great desserts. They're all homemade. We have an in-house chef and in-house baker. She bakes our homemade caramel bread pudding, probably our number one dessert seller. It's fabulous. We have a triple chocolate mousse cake, homemade chocolate chip cookies, homemade desserts. Everything is homemade."
Ogden Nature Center
Located in the heart of the city, the Ogden Nature Center is a 152-acre nature preserve and education center open to the public year-round.
A center employee said, "Just the experience of being outside, for some people going for an all-day hike is intimidating. Here, it's relaxed, it's easy-going and it's a great introduction to nature."
You can enjoy miles of walking trails on tree-shaded paths and get up close with wildlife.
A great horn owl named Chitters is the mascot of the nature center. He is part of the live birds of prey exhibit. But at times, he shows a near-human side and apparently prefers blondes.
"So when he tries to find a girlfriend, he looks for someone just like you (Brooke). He would bring you mice and grunt at you," I was told. "He can't cook it for you, but he'll bring it to you."
