SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Salt Lake City Fire Department has instituted several restrictions on the use of fireworks for the Pioneer Day holiday.
The department has placed restrictions on areas around City Creek Canyon, the University of Utah and the Avenues.
No fireworks can be used west of Interstate 215 in Salt Lake City.
Fireworks can be set off through July 27 in approved areas.
