(KSL News) -- A fire destroyed part of a home today in West Valley City.
It started around 3:00 this afternoon on 4200 South and 4900 West. Crews say the family was still inside when the fire started.
Kris Romijn, West Valley City Fire Dept: "The people that were home heard a popping noise and had a lot of flames and smoke immediately after."
The family got out safely and called 911.
Firefighters put the fire out. They say it destroyed four rooms in the house. Damage is estimated at 80-thousand dollars.
