SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Although Real Salt Lake missed this week's deadline to release its financial records, the team promises to present those figures on Monday.
The Major League Soccer team will release the information to Salt Lake County and the local media.
In a letter hand-delivered to Salt Lake County's mayor yesterday, the team's C-E-O Dean Howes says they have absolutely nothing to hide from officials charged with protecting the taxpayers' best interests.
Still, for months, county leaders have been waiting for R-S-L's business plan. At issue is $40 million in public money still awaiting final approval pending a review of the team's financial records.
Howes says the team still remains on schedule for a July 2008 grand opening.
