(KSL News) St. George residents can breath easy, knowing their city was ranked one of the most secure places to live.
Out of 138 small metropolitan areas across the nation surveyed, St. George ranked first, according to the Farmers Insurance Group.
The rankings were based on crime rates, environmental hazards, terrorism threats, job growth and extreme weather conditions.
Among large cities surveyed, Salt Lake City came in 53rd out of 114 cities, dropping from last year's 41st ranking.
