DAVIS COUNTY -- After spending 24 hours in harsh conditions up Farmington Canyon, a missing hiker is home safe.

Search and rescue crews began looking for 20-year-old Kevin Scoville on Saturday after he didn't return home from a hike.
Several searchers were heading back down Lime Creek Canyon Sunday when they found a pair of shoes placed in a footprint. Soon after, they found Scoville several miles from the trailhead.
"It appeared as though he was a little confused about what was going on, and that alerted the crew members there to seek that ambulance. The ambulance arrived and we have sent a deputy paramedic to that location. And we have taken him into protective custody," said Sgt. Scott Harper, of the Davis County Sheriff's Office.
Scoville was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but he's expected to be fine.
