SALT LAKE CITY -- After selling the remaining 500 "Red Zone" seats in the first two days of public sale, just 1,500 season tickets remain for the 2009 Utah football season. Of Rice-Eccles Stadium's 45,017 seats, 31,000 are allotted for season sales. Last year, Utah set a school record by selling 30,547 season tickets and Utah director of ticket sales Zack Lassiter anticipates a sellout this year.
"We expect to move all of the remaining 600 bleacher and 900 chair back seats by August," says Lassiter.
Season tickets can be purchased online at utahutes.com or by calling 801-581-UTIX.
Utah has set attendance records all four years of Kyle Whittingham's head coaching tenure, led by last year's average of 45,542--which exceeded the seating capacity of Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Utah's 2009 home schedule follows: Sept. 3 (Thu.) Utah State, 7 p.m.; Sept. 26 Louisville, 5:30 p.m.; Oct. 24 Air Force, 2 p.m.; Oct. 31 Wyoming, 6 p.m.; Nov. 7 New Mexico, 4 p.m.; Nov. 21 San Diego State 2 p.m.
