PANGUITCH, Utah (AP) -- State officials say a tip to a poaching hot line led authorities to two Utah men now accused of illegally killing wildlife.
Officials with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources say search warrants served Saturday and Monday in Panguitch turned up evidence of nine mule deer and two pronghorn taken out of season last fall and winter.
Gary Harp, 35, and Gavin Smith, 19, both of Panguitch, were arrested Monday and booked into the Garfield County jail.
Harp is charged with three third-degree felonies and 13 misdemeanors. Smith faces two felony and 12 misdemeanor charges. Both are scheduled to make initial court appearances Thursday.
The men remained jailed Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutor Barry Huntington says they don't yet have lawyers.
