SALT LAKE CITY -- Tuesday is the most likely day for a woman in Utah to give birth. It's a day ahead of the rest of the country.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, more mothers in the U.S. gave birth on Tuesdays for 16 years. But three years ago Wednesday got the edge, except in Utah. No one is really sure why.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Wednesday gained a three-baby edge in Utah in 2007, but Tuesday regained the top spot again in 2008.
An astrologer tells the Tribune Tuesday is influenced by the planet Mars and is associated with activity or labor.
The least likely day for a birth is Sunday, with 4,012 fewer births than Tuesday.
