OGDEN -- Workers at a popular Ogden sports bar were surprised when federal agents showed up at their door Thursday morning. Now, those who work there are wondering what's going on, and so are customers.

It was just another normal work day for Shawn Baty at Teazers Sports Bar & Grill in Ogden, until he got a knock at the door and was served with a search warrant.

"[I was] caught totally by surprise," Baty said. "There's a misunderstanding of what's going on."

Exactly what is going on, he says he doesn't know. What he does know is federal agents with the Internal Revenue Service came to Teazers and gave him a search warrant and started going through the business's files and records.

Later, those agents started taking boxes full of files and computer hard drives out of the building. It's evidence for something, but exactly what, the IRS isn't saying.

"We do have a valid search warrant that's been OK'd by a judge. So at this point, that is still sealed, so that won't be available for public information yet," said Diana Nielsen, with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division.

Of course, the big question still remains: Why? "We're going to meet as a staff tonight just to reinforce to everybody that we're still here," Baty said.

After agents left, Teazers was allowed to open again for business. But after having federal agents walking in and out of the building all day long, Baty is worried it will affect business.

"People try all the time to hurt us or influence us in some way, and just like every other time they're going to run into nothing this time," Baty said.

Baty hopes to find out soon, as does KSL, what that search warrant was all about.
