OGDEN -- A plea deal is being sought in the case of a woman accused of causing a fatal accident after taking sleeping pills.
Twenty-eight-year old Alecia Lyn Kap is charged with two counts of negligent automobile homicide in connection with the deaths or Dean and Verna Arave last May near Hill Air Force Base.
Prosecutors say Kap had high levels of the drug Ambien in her bloodstream when she ran a red light and crashed into Arave's vehicle.
The Ogden Standard Examiner reports that Monday a lawyer for Kap said he was working on a plea deal with prosecutors; but if an agreement could not be reached, Kap would appear for a preliminary hearing next month.
