TAYLORSVILLE - Police are asking for the public's help to locate a rape suspect.

Elias Clavell, 42, has been formally charged with first degree felony sexual assault and has an outstanding arrest warrant.

Taylorsville police say Clavell is suspected of sexually assaulting a woman he had met through employment at her home in Taylorsville in mid-January.

Police say the two were not dating but had socialized together.

Clavell has no criminal record in Utah. The arrest warrant was issued last Tuesday.

Police say he appears to have abandoned his Lehi residence. Clavell's family says they have not seen him for several days and he has not shown up for work.

Clavell is a native of Venezuela and has contacts in Utah and Florida.

He is 6 feet tall, weighs about 196 pounds, with brown eyes and salt and pepper hair.

Anyone with information on where he is can call 801-743-7000.
