Sandra Yi reporting West Valley Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred Saturday night.
It happened about 6:15 Saturday evening in the area of 2800 West and 2700 South in West Valley.
The stabbing victim was visiting his mother who lives in the area.
One of the windows on the victim's car was shattered. Police don't know if that is related to the stabbing.
The victim was stabbed multiple times. After the stabbing, the victim walked to a neighboring home and collapsed. He was flown to the hospital. He is now in stable condition.
Police only have a vague description of the suspect. The suspect ran away after the stabbing.
Lt. Matt Elson,West Valley City Police Dept.: "We are not sure of their relationship yet, like I said, I don't know if this was a random thing, if they knew each other or if they just met each other... we're still trying to figure all that out."
Police set up a containment area, and searched it extensively using canines. The search did not turn up anything.
Police are interviewing several witnesses to see if they can come up with more information on the suspect.
