SALT LAKE CITY -- A Riverton teenager has pleaded guilty of beating a dog so severely that it went blind.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports the 17-year-old boy apologized to the dog's owners and his own family in court Thursday.
In August, Ryan and Vicky Kunz returned from vacation to find their home burglarized and their dog Ranger beaten.
Interviews and criminal records checks led investigators to the arrest of the teenager.
Another teen has pleaded guilty to similar charges.
The case marked the first time a crime had been charged under Henry's Law, which makes animal cruelty a felony.
