SALT LAKE CITY -- People magazine calls them the "Fab Five." The brothers and sisters from Provo are the only five siblings to have attended the prestigious Juilliard School simultaneously. Internationally-recognized classical musicians The 5 Browns have now written a book.

Two brothers, three sisters, five Steinways; as those 50 fingers glide across the keys, the result is instantly impressive and refreshing. Their world tours have brought The 5 Browns home to Utah.

Now there are more than rehearsals and concerts, there's a book: "Life between the keys: The (Mis)Adventures of The 5 Browns." And their latest CD is included inside.

"It's kind of a collection of snapshots; just moments, stories, things that have happened to us from our childhood, from, like, childhood competitions and just being kids," explained Desirae Brown.

Melody Brown continued, "The Juilliard experience, about when we first auditioned there and how nervous we were and what the audition process was like and what we were thinking and what the school is like. So many kids have asked us that."

"We had a music teacher at Juilliard that told us, she said the experiences that you live in your normal life, the more you live them, the more you have to bring back to the music. And so we kind of feel like, in this book, it's not just showing the music side of us that people get to see on stage, you get to see the personal side," said Deondra Brown.

Their brother, Gregory Brown, said, "To be able to see so many different kids and entire families coming to our concerts, it makes us kind of feel like maybe we are doing something, in our small way, to pass on this great music."

"I'm hoping that that comes across in the book, that, you know, we're just having a good time and we like telling some of our crazy stories," Ryan Brown added.

The 5 Browns perform Wednesday night at the De Jong Concert Hall on the BYU campus at 7:30. The performance is sold out, but the siblings told us to tell our viewers and readers they love to visit with music students, so come on over! They'll be signing books afterward.
