MIDVALE -- A TRAX train struck and seriously injured a 19-year-old man Monday evening at the Midvale Center stop.
The teen was riding a skateboard, and witnesses told the Utah Transit Authority that he didn't seem to be paying a lot of attention.
"He was on his skateboard, on his cell phone, and crossing the tracks without looking either way," said UTA spokeswoman Carrie Bohnsack-Ware.
The teen was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. UTA policy requires a drug and alcohol test for the driver and a psychological exam to make sure the driver is OK to return to work.
