Police are investigating a break-in at the Utah Pride Center. Staff members say the lock was pried open and the offices burglarized late Feb. 13 or early Feb. 14.
The Utah Pride Center, located at 355 N. 300 West in Salt Lake, serves gay and lesbian members of the community. Doug Jennings, media and special events coordinator, says whoever did it must have hid inside the building until the coffee shop below the offices closed, then pried open the lock on the office door.
"At this moment in time we are working with the Salt Lake City Police Department to see if it was an individual or more than one person," he said.
Jennings wouldn't say what was stolen.
He also says they don't yet know the purpose of the break-in. "We are just trying to emphasize that we don't want to jump to any conclusions before we can gather all the evidence," he said.
