Photo courtesy of the Herrin Family(KSL News) -- Maliyah Herrin's family is saying their twin daughter's surgery was more complicated than expected.
Surgeons operated today to remove scar tissue from an intestine which had wrapped itself around an expander. The expander is there to make room for a new kidney for Maliyah when a transplant can take place.
Doctors had to remove the expander. Four-year-old Maliyah will now go to Intensive Care.
