Six transit officers who usually police TRAX and FrontRunner in Utah instead helped make sure everything ran smoothly at a subway station in Washington, D.C. yesterday.

They say it was amazing how smoothly everything went, considering all the people.

Sgt. John Lyle says it provided training and networking. He said there are some parallels.

"We're relatively small in comparison, obviously, to D.C. metro, but there are some things they've gone through that we're now going through," he said.

The officers started the day at 4 a.m. and finished at 7 p.m.
