(KSL News) After complaints from more than 300 residents, UDOT is scrapping plans for a connecting road between the Legacy Highways.

The Farmington Planning Commission denied UDOT's request to change the city's transportation plan.

UDOT says the connector would not have been built for 20 to 30 years, but residents still opposed to the idea because the route would have impacted dozens of homes and at least one business.

The agency will spend the next several months determining if there are other alternatives to the connector road.
