(KSL News) An accident in Spanish Fork Canyon this afternoon sent a 75-year-old snowmobiler to the hospital in serious condition.
According to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, the man was snowmobiling with family and friends at Wan Rhodes Canyon, which is near Diamond Fork in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Witnesses say he accidentally pulled the throttle when he was trying to slow down near a cabin. He he hit a tree head-first, causing severe head injuries. Officials say he was not wearing a helmet.
The victim was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in critical condition. His name has not yet been released.
