(KSL News) Pets needing a home for the holidays were on display today at the animal shelter at 2274 S. 600 West in South Salt Lake.

Rick Perkins said, "We just wanted to come down and get a cat for my wife for Christmas."

Aside from cats, there were also a lot of dogs and even bunnies needing homes.

This time of year the shelters are pretty full, that's why shelter officials recommend adopting a pet instead of buying one.
