(KSL News) -- Firefighters say a fire this evening should serve as a seasonal wake-up call.
A lot of smoke and flames were shooting out of the roof a home near 726 S. 600 East. The home is divided into apartments.
A new renter had started a gas log, but the chimney flu had debris that caught fire and spread to the attic. No one was hurt, but the fire caused thousands of dollars' damage.
Fire officials remind us to make sure your chimney is clean and your furnace is in good condition.
