Special teams help Orem overturn 20-6 halftime deficit for 32-26 win over American Fork
Feleti Iongi totaled 196 yards and three touchdowns, and Orem used a 26-6 second-half run to rally past American Fork, 32-26 Friday night to improve to 2-0.Why did we choose this game?
It's difficult to top Thursday night's Corner Canyon upset victory over IMG Academy, MaxPreps' No. 3 team in the country, but American Fork at Orem should provide some fireworks of their own. And we're looking forward to seeing it up close.
The game features two teams ranked inside the top 15 of the KSL.com 20+1 rankings, and a rematch of last season's thrilling 24-20 game in which the Cavemen came out on top amid a 6-0 start to the season.
No. 7 American Fork is looking to get on the right side of the win column after putting up 42 points against Corner Canyon in Week 1 — and still losing by 28 points! Running back Madden Jensen, who rushed for 149 yards last week, is a good place to start.
Conversely, No. 13 Orem is looking to build off a Week 1 win over Pleasant Grove, and maybe avenge a close loss last season. Quarterback Tayden Ka'awa threw three touchdown passes last week, but will face a bigger test this week.
