SALT LAKE CITY — Familiar teams sat atop the Top 20+1 in the preseason, but did all of them pass their first test?

It all depends on the early season schedule.

Let's adjust after the first week of games, just like we'll do all season long.

1. Corner Canyon (1-0)

It may be time to start talking more about Chryshaun Lee, who had 265 yards and four touchdowns in a season-opening win over American Fork, and Bryton Brady, who ran for 281 yards and three scores on the ground.

Transfer quarterback Helaman Casuga showed plenty of command of an offense that also features top recruit Jerome Myles (120 yards, 1 TD) and newcomer Kai Meza (92 yards, 1 TD) in his 482-yard, six touchdown Corner Canyon debut.

But the Chargers earned every bit of it in a 70-42 win over American Fork. No offense to the Cavemen, but that defense will face a much stiffer challenge Friday when the Chargers host national power IMG Academy (Fla.) in Draper.

2. Lehi (1-0)

Several players impressed during Week 1 of the high school football season, and Lehi running back Devaughn Eka was certainly one of them with his three touchdown performance.

The Pioneers also got a pair of touchdowns from Jett Niu to Mays Madsen in a 38-13 win over Davis before heading south to St. George to take on Desert Hills on Friday.

3. Lone Peak (1-0)

Perhaps the most impressive win of the week, though, belonged to the Knights, who shut out Bingham 21-0.

Kepa Niumeitolu ran for 87 yards and a touchdown to give Lone Peak all the offense it would need, and Jayden Mayberry returned a 42-yard interception for a score in the second half to highlight a dominant defense.

4. Skyridge (0-1)

Kaneal Sweetwyne ran for 65 yards and two touchdowns as the Falcons jumped out to a 29-14 halftime lead on the road at Timpview before the Thunderbirds mounted a masssive comeback to win on Carsen Rasmussen's short touchdown pass to Jaron Pula with six seconds remaining.

These two teams are neck-and-neck, as evidenced by this week's rankings.

5. Timpview (1-0)

Pula, one of the state's most-coveted receivers with offers from Alabama, Auburn and Washington to go along with BYU and Utah, among others, caught two touchdown passes, and twin brother Kennan recovered a fumble for a touchdown to end the third quarterback during the Thunderbirds' big comeback win.

Another stiff challenge awaits the Birds on Friday when hosting Lone Peak before a rivalry game against Provo.

6. Bountiful (1-0)

Siaki Fekitoa ran for 142 yards and a touchdown, and caught three passes for 65 yards and another score as the Redhawks had little trouble in a 27-9 win over Herriman. Emerson Geilman threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns without an interception for Bountiful, which hosts Farmington on Friday.

7. American Fork (0-1)

The Cavemen showed grit against the top-rated team in the state when David Gaisford found Cade Wilkinson for his third of four passing touchdowns to pull American Fork within 7 to open the third quarter.

The Chargers' offense was too much, though. But American Fork may be able to hang with plenty of teams via a ground game that was paced by Madden Jensen (28 carries, 149 yards) in the loss.

8. Mountain Ridge (1-0)

Wyatt Bingham threw for 207 yards, including three touchdowns, during a 21-0 spurt that helped the Sentinels pull away in a 27-14 road win over Fremont.

Mountain Ridge will host 4A Dixie in its home opener Friday.

9. Brighton (1-0)

The Bengals never trailed as Beau La Fleur returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns to ease to a 34-14 win at Provo. They'll travel to Syracuse next week before the home opener Aug. 30 against Riverton.

10. West (0-1)

The Panthers couldn't keep pace with one of the top teams in Georgia in a 45-28 road loss to Colquitt County. Kamden Lopati threw for 296 yards and an interception, and ran for 116 more as the Panthers fell behind 31-6 at halftime and never caught up.

West will host Clovis East (Calif.) in Friday's home opener.

11. Springville (1-0)

Lisiate Valeti ran for 109 yards and a touchdown and three passes for 82 yards, and Reid Deede returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown as the 5A Red Devils pulled past 4A Dixie 41-12.

12. Roy (1-0)

Dru Gardner threw three touchdown passes as the Royals headed north to knock off Farmington 38-14 in the season opener. The Phoenix were held to just one offensive touchdown — Will Peterson's 2-yard run with 3:17 remaining — in addition to Travis Hoopes' 76-yard punt return score.

13. Orem (1-0)

Tayden Ka'awa threw three touchdown passes, and Cole Engemann tossed two more as the Tigers romped past Pleasant Grove 35-13.

14. Bingham (0-1)

Isaac Larson ran for 91 yards, but Ayden Dunn and Boston Singley combined for three interceptions as the Miners will look for their first win of the season Friday at Crimson Cliffs.

15. Weber (1-0)

Freshman quarterback Carter Payne completed 19-of-35 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions, and BYU commit Tyler Payne totaled 15 tackles as the Warriors downed Westlake 24-16 on the road.

16. Davis (0-1)

The Darts were held to 36 total rushing yards in the loss at Lehi. Junior quarterback Tradon Bessinger threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns as the team shifts to its home opener Friday against Copper Hills.

17. Spanish Fork (1-0)

Brock Jacobson's 1-yard TD run with 1:50 remaining helped the Dons overturn a 13-7 deficit with 17 fourth-quarter points for a 24-20 win at Olympus.

18. Olympus (0-1)

Luke Esperson threw two touchdown passes for the Titans, who will look to rebound Friday at Provo.

19. Ridgeline (1-0)

Nate Dahle threw for two touchdowns, and JT White ran for another score as the Riverhawks routed Bonneville 41-7 in the season opener for both teams.

20. Morgan (1-0)

Lincoln Gilson ran for 42 yards and a touchdown, and Kanyon Leonelli scored two rushing touchdowns as the 3A Trojans thumped 4A Crimson Cliffs 41-13.

Plus-1. Grantsville (1-0)

The 3A Cowboys got 244 yards, four touchdowns and an interception from Dallen Van Vliet, and Jayden Atkinson ran for 248 yards and two scores to end San Juan's impressive 37-game winning streak with a 36-30 victory on opening night.

The Broncos overturned a 30-12 deficit after three quarters with an 18-0 run that included an 85-yard kick return, Jaiten Knight's 35-yard TD strike to Owen Adams and JD Palmer's 60-yard pick six to tie the game at 30-all. But Atkinson scored his second touchdown on a 2-yard run with 3:49 left to drop the 2A South powers to 0-1.
