ALABAMA — Have you ever heard the phrase, "Dance like nobody's watching?" It's one of those quotes that gets attributed to all types of famous people.
For example, some people claim the origin is a passage written by none other than Mark Twain: "Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching, and live like it's heaven on earth."
Nice try, but even without doing any research on the topic, I knew in my heart that Twain would never write the words "love like you've never been hurt" or "dance like nobody's watching." They sound too cheesy to be associated with the wit master who wrote, "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits" and "Be good and you will be lonesome."
Turns out, the phrase "dance like nobody's watching" is from a 1987 song called "Come from the Heart." Makes sense. I remember going to the mall as a kid and hearing song after song with lyrics like that.
You might be wondering what all this has to do with today's video. Not much, other than the fact that the baby goats in this video are truly jumping like nobody's watching.
"Our baby Nigerian dwarf goats love climbing and jumping on everything," explains the caption. "So I just knew they needed a trampoline. They absolutely loved it and love showing out for us daily now!"
Perhaps we should all take inspiration from these goats and live a little happier and more free. As Twain once said, "When in doubt, jump like a goat on a trampoline."
