VIRGINIA — Security cameras capture the darnedest things. Whether it's your neighbor stealing packages off your porch, a tornado tossing your trampoline or a porcupine climbing on your truck, there are sights that simply wouldn't be seen without the unblinking eye of a camera.
This round-the-clock surveillance has definitely made it harder for people to flee the scene of their crimes and blunders. Take this FedEx driver, for instance.
While backing up a long driveway in Virginia, the driver keeps a heavy foot on the gas. This approach might save them time, but it also increases the risk of smashing into the resident's vehicle — which is exactly what happened.
After the collision, the driver stays in the truck for several seconds. Were they texting their friends to tell them about the wacky thing that just happened? Checking their insurance policy to see how good the coverage is? Googling the nearest scrap yard so they could find a taillight to replace the one they just destroyed?
I bet they were assessing the situation to see if the house has security cameras.
The caption implies the homeowners had experienced issues with this particular driver in the past, so this seems to be a pattern. And drivers like that probably have no problem fleeing from crashes and then making up excuses to cover for the resulting damage to their trucks.
